Based in Selm, Germany, Vieler began his journey in 2013 when he started photographing his Labrador, Lotte. To capture dynamic shots, he tossed treats to Lotte and photographed her reactions, leading to the creation of his signature series, "Dogs Catching Treats."
Vieler's work gained viral attention for capturing dogs' spontaneous and often comical expressions as they attempt to catch treats.
